Sunday- June 16th
I wasn't really able to celebrate my birthday because of the hectic pre trip activity.. Tanya and katya surprised me with a lovely birthday cake on Sunday post lunch. A truly special moment! :)
Prior to lunch, Katya, our local CDC contact in Ekaterinburg showed us around the key sites of this historic city!
And thats the entire CSC team, along with Tanya and Katya!
I will introduce each of them in detail as we go along. Also to Vilma, from my team, who isn't in this pic.
Before stepping out, we had the project kickoff, where I learnt so much about each of these wonderful people!
Its amazing that though we come from different job roles, backgrounds and nationalities, we have similar aspirations and values!
Moving out of the comfort zone, learning about Russian culture, and making new friends!
Some pics of the kickoff-
And that's me presenting! On the journey to IBM CSC and what I expect from this assignment..
Monday-June 17- Beginning of a new journey...
And then arrived D-day! When we officially were meeting with our clients. It was a nice formal ambience, each of us introduced ourselves and exchanged business cards. Unfortunately, no photo's as we were all so busy in getting to know our clients!
We were then in our individual teams- and were escorted to the client's office.
Our work place is in the City Council - one of the oldest in Eburg.. and its lovely.. long corridors with chandeliors, high ceilings and a maze of building's connected to each other!
We began our first day at work in style! With lunch at a lovely German place with our host Irina..
They're both a lot of fun and the amazing part is our birthday's our separated by just a month! So we understand each other very well. And I think we make a great team!
Fite is very entertaining and I love Vilma's attitude- easy going , friendly and direct. :)..
And thats the view from our office window!.. Wow.. love working out of this building..so much history..:)
Our client had set up a calendar of meetings for the week, and we spent the rest of the week meeting some really interesting members of the Ekaterinburg convention bureau!
The women we met including our clients Elena and Svetlana are really enterprising, smart and beautiful!
They shared their experiences of working in the city, and in promoting business/ leisure tourism in the city..

I loved visiting the Ekaterinburg tourist information centre.. with a lovely souvenior shop of the city..
Such an amazing project to have..!
Evening's were spent with the team over lovely elaborate dinners..
The most special evening was on the 19th..When I went to watch the ballet..courtesy Mike and Stu's client.. who gave us free tickets..
It was a lovely experience..with the dancers depicting ballet from the 18th century to the 20th..
And this collage represents how my week was! Perfect example of work-life balance!
Be glued to my blog for updates on a lovely weekend..:)
Till then..Dasvidanya from Ekaterinburg!
